"Kramer" Signed to Fill Imus Time Slot

Los Angeles, CA  |  Actor Michael Richards, best know for his Cosmo Kramer character on the Seinfeld television series, will take over the talk show formerly hosted by Don Imus.

The beleaguered Imus, a 40-year veteran of the airwaves, was fired last week after apologizing for racially insensitive remarks made during his "Imus in the Morning" simulcast.

"Mr. Richards is a seasoned professional with an outstanding track record," CBS Corporation Director Bruce Gordon said during this morning's press conference. "We feel he brings a subtle and sophisticated brand of humor to the table. But more importantly, he knows where to draw the line."

Gordon hoped the move would attract listeners who are "weary of loose cannon sociopaths with kooky hair styles" adding, "We expect this whole unpleasant episode will soon be forgotten."

When asked if the Don Imus firing marked the beginning of the end for "shock jock" radio, Gordon responded, "Don who?"
