Paris Hilton Files for Patent on "That's Hot"
Chatsworth, CA | Hotel heiress Paris Hilton has filed a copyright request for her catch-phrase "That's Hot" with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
The document of record shows her seeking exclusive rights to use the expression "on fragrances and items of clothing and jewelry, as well as in connection with sexual services and appliances."
Ms. Hilton's attempt to copyright the commonly used phrase parallels a similar bid last year by Donald Trump, who sought intellectual property controls over his signature line from The Apprentice reality show, "You're Fired!"
Patent law experts doubt her application will be approved, but representatives of Ms. Hilton say she has filed a secondary request, should the primary copyright be denied.
Her alternate slogan reads: "I have absolutely no talent or personality yet I'm world famous, have a hit television series, a best-selling book, and my own record label, proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is no God."
