2004 Presidential Election Satire

January 19, 2004

Bush Wins Iowa Democratic Caucus

Des Moines, IA  |  In one of the tightest races in memory, George W. Bush has narrowly received 100% of the vote in the first major Democratic Presidential primary.

Bush was trailed closely by Howard Dean, John Edwards, Dick Gephardt and John Kerry, who each received 0% of the vote. Dennis Kucinich, Joseph Lieberman and Al Sharpton had a disappointing show of support, capturing a mere 0%.

Wesley Clark, who skipped the caucus to concentrate on the January 27 New Hampshire primary, and Carol Moseley Braun, who dropped out of the running last week, each received an expectedly low total of 0%.

Diebold Inc. CEO Wally O'Dell, who provided 15,700 touch-screen voting machines for the Iowa caucus, said, "This is a gratifying example of paperless democracy in action."

O'Dell, who admits being unprepared in time for the Washington DC primary earlier this month, said his machines are already being distributed in New Hampshire.

"I plan to do whatever it takes to guarantee America doesn't suffer through another Florida fiasco," O'Dell vowed.
