Memphis, TN | Popular morning radio personality "Bad Dog," of Rock 103's out-of-control Wake Up Crew, has a secret fantasy. He would rather be playing the accordion.
He has a "day gig" most people would envy. His official duties often include rubbing elbows with porn actresses and rock stars, or partying all night at topless bars. But he would trade all the fame and fortune in an instant for the opportunity to spend more time practicing his true love.
"When I'm playing Lucille [the name he has given his accordion] I'm awash in a wonderful feeling of contentment," he explains. "It's hard to describe. I just don't get that same satisfaction from wrestling a couple of naked supermodels in banana pudding."
Among his favorite traditional tunes are "Lady of Spain" and "In Heaven There Is No Beer." But he feels just at home playing the more modern smooth jazz or hip hop styles of music.
Bad Dog frequently moonlights as a ring announcer for professional boxing at The Gold Strike Casino where he has tried, so far without success, to convince some of the boxers to use accordion music as their theme song. Nonetheless, he remains optimistic about the future.
"I love Tim, Bev, and the other people I work with. But the 'cor-deen' is going to make a comeback," he insists. "And when it does, I'm outta here!"
