Rescue Workers Free Saddam from Abandoned Well

Al-Dawr, IQ  |  A grateful Saddam Hussein is reportedly "disoriented and bewildered" after being found trapped underground near his hometown of Tikrit in northern Iraq.

Saddam was discovered by the U.S. 4th Infantry after neighbors reported noises coming from the abandoned well. Special thermal imaging equipment was used to capture his exact position, and a makeshift air vent was hastily dug.

But after a miniature video camera was lowered into the "spider hole," rescue teams were amazed to discover that an 18-month-old baby girl and a puppy had also fallen down the narrow shaft.

The toddler has been nicknamed "Jessica" until her parents can be located. And, for obvious reasons, they're calling the puppy "Lucky."

Also found in the well were 500,000 tons of weaponized chemical and nuclear materials.

Lucky, Jessica and Saddam are described as "hungry and thirsty, but glad to finally be out."
